A true experience like never seen before.

UNIMATE is the first world wide body control, animation and robot camp, conference and championship. It is an important week-long educational, community and competition event. Dancers and artists from around the whole world will meet in the city of Los Angeles to explore these techniques, build their skills and compete with the best of the best, in the city where the legends and pioneers of these styles reside. Learn from the best of the best.

Unimate was the first ever industrial robot and was invented in the 1950s although the word robot comes from 1920 book Rossum's Universal Robots. Unimation was the first robotics company founded in 1962. This is to celebrate the long history that the robotic movement has.

MEET THE CREATOR OF UNIMATE

JAJA VANKOVA ARMSTRONG

Movement artist and a dancer for over 23 years. She has traveled the world in more than 80 countries and provided education in more than 130 countries. Her specialty was body control since the beginning she has found passion and love for dance. Later on she has discovered robot and animation in the street dance community and dived deep into these technical styles. She has discovered a special connection between robot, animation and the body control techniques these styles are using and how to use it in all other dance styles as well. She has developed exercises to specifically train this and became one of the best in this craft in the

world. She also found something else exceptional - people love observing these styles even from non dancers eyes and there was very little space for movement artists and dancers to express these styles. That’s why UNIMATE was created. An event that is only focusing on body control, animation and robot. A place where extraordinary skill building will happen and place where everyone can observe the uniqueness of this art.
